Your Sales Assistant is designed to live on your website. Once it’s set up, you put it on your site as a chat widget: a small chat button, usually in a bottom corner, that visitors can open to start a conversation. This section shows you how, with step-by-step guides for the most common website builders.
Haven’t set up your Sales Assistant yet? Do that first in Sales Assistant, then come back here to put it on your site.
How it works
At a high level, there are three steps:
- Launch your Sales Assistant.
- Copy the install snippet that EasyMate creates for you.
- Paste the snippet into your website so the chat appears on every page.
That’s it. You don’t write any code yourself. The snippet is generated for you with your Sales Assistant’s details already filled in.
The snippet is the same for every website platform. What changes is where you paste it. Each platform has a slightly different spot for adding custom code, which is what the per-platform guides explain.
Step 1: Launch your Sales Assistant
- Open your Sales Assistant.
- Go to the Launch screen (in the left menu).
- Click Launch Sales Assistant and confirm. Your assistant goes live on every page where the snippet is installed.
If your Sales Assistant is offline (you clicked Take offline), the chat won’t appear on your site even when the snippet is installed correctly. This is the most common reason it doesn’t show up. To pause it, use Take offline; to bring it back, click Launch again.
Step 2: Copy the install snippet
On the Launch screen, under Embed on your website, you’ll see a Code snippet with a Copy button. Click Copy to put the snippet on your clipboard.
For a breakdown of what the snippet contains, see The install snippet.
Step 3: Paste it into your website
Choose your platform and follow the guide:
Taking it offline
If you ever want to remove the chat from your site, open your Sales Assistant’s Launch screen and click Take offline. The chat stops appearing right away, and you can launch it again whenever you’re ready. You don’t need to touch your website.
